Christmas Planning

The secret to a happy, stress-free Christmas is - planning.

It sounds tedious but, in my humble opinion, it is the only way to reach December 25th without feeling frazzled.

What does planning involve? Let's start with the basics. Where are you going to be at Christmas? Will you be at home or are you going to stay with friends, relatives or even take a vacation. Now is the time to plan your whereabouts as this will influence the rest of your Christmas planning.

If you are planning a Christmas vacation you will need to have your gift shopping completed early. Are you planning to ship your gifts out to your vacation location? How about family gifts how will you be delivering those.

For the families and individuals staying at home will you be entertaining? Can you plan your menus and shopping to ensure that you are not still eating Christmas leftovers at Easter?

And, what is happening during the run up to Christmas? Are you helping with the school nativity play? Are there costumes to be made or lines to be learned?

What are you planning for food this year? Do you need Christmas recipe ideas?

Perhaps you'd like to involve the whole family in Christmas crafts or even find some unusual Christmas craft ideas to make handmade gifts for those who are so difficult to buy for?

What are you planning to do to keep excited children occupied in the run up to Christmas? You'll need to plan some Christmas activities to keep them amused.

On the matter of children....have you planned their letter from Santa or even a telephone call from Santa? To keep the magic of Christmas alive you may even want a Santa Claus Evidence Kit!

If you are looking to put meaning back into Christmas you'll want to include activities that recognise the real significance of this special time of year. You will want to check out the Family Advent and Christmas pack.

Start thinking ahead now and put your christmas plans into place - it is the one sure way to ensure you have a stress free Christmas.
